Description: This private Press was is the first (and only?) album by Brooklyn born Ray Lynch. After contemporary dance studies, he ended up in West Germany in 1965 during his military service. He then stays in Europe and opens a dance school in Stuttgart in 1975, "The New York City Dance School". This extra-small press record was commisioned by him from an early Police, Eberhard Schoner producer and was intended as a pedagogical record for dance companies. Most of the music here is dated and pretty average, BUT, it contains the ultimate masterpiece that "Cooking It Till It's Hot" is! An instrumental accoustic house piece that features the same groove you can find in the rawest Larry Heard twelves, especially on the Stomp The Beat EP! It's not as hard, of course, but the dynamic is the same, shear beauty!!! The next piece ("Sweat It Up") is not as radical but is a nice italo NRG stomper that has absolutely no reason to be featured on there, except to justify even more the oddity and awesomeness of this release. Side 2 also features nice instrumental afro beats that indeed sound really cool. You can check an excerpt there : http://soundcloud.com/bertrand-delanowave/ray-lynch-cooking-it-till-its-hot-excerpt
