Description: Undated printing, likely circa 1900. Appears to be part of larger "Works of Hugo" set, but Les Miserables is complete in five volumes. Limited edition of 1,000 copies - this is #550. Uniform red cloth with title stamps on spines. Text alongside b/w frontispieces & illustrations under glassine papers in each. Covers show light scuffing and shelfwear with age, bump to top-right corner of Vol. 2, noticeable rubbing to title stamps but still faintly visible. Front hinge of Vol. 3 cracked and partially repaired with book glue, a bit fragile but intact (see photos). Solid binding to other volumes. Short tears to bottom edge of first 20-25 pp. of Vol. 1, all other books well-preserved with minor yellowing to page edges. No notes or underlining.
