Extremities rubbed with a noticeable scuff to rear, but exterior is quite clean overall with rich red cloth remaining vibrant and unsoiled. Save for minimal toning and an owner's signature penciled to front flyleaf, pages are pristine, showing no further writing, stains, foxing, dog-ears, or tears. Spine is starting to shake, but hinges remain sound with no splits, and binding is clean throughout. Dust jacket shows some significant edge wear with open tears to caps and reinforced tears/creases to extremities. Nevertheless, covers remain relatively clean with front remaining striking and unsoiled. First printing of Masterman's illustrated edition in overall lovely shape. Scarce dust jacket is unclipped, and is now housed in a protective archival sleeve.
