Description: This listing is for a gently used Leblanc Paris low C bass clarinet with silver plating in very good condition. It features undercut tone holes, giving it a very fine sound. This is one of the last Leblanc low C basses made as it has the revised throat Bb vent and an adjustable thumbrest. Serial number 17968. A woodwind repair technician has carefully gone over the bass clarinet and replaced some key corks and adjusted some key heights to optimize venting for the best intonation possible. Some of the original key corks have a few tiny nicks on them but they function perfectly. The pads are original, seal perfectly, and have a lot of time left in them. The instrument has been oiled and regulated to a professional level, removing any slack/play from the mechanism so that it performs precisely and quietly. The wood is in excellent condition with no cracks or repaired cracks. The silver plating is bright and in overall very good condition with tarnish in some crevices. This instrument features an additional Ab/Eb by using fingers one and three of the right hand without pinky keys, making some music easier to play. Floor peg and new BAM case ($600 value) are included. It would be perfect for a school on a budget or a player who would like to have their own wooden low C bass clarinet.
