Some minor splits or micro head caps chips. The set is consistent in its appearance. The main condition flaw is in volume ten, Old Mortality, is missing pages 1-4, And the frontisplate is detached. This is articulated in the pictures as well. The missing pages could be acquired from a similar set and then bound in by a professional bindery in order to complete the four missing pages, or kept as is. Old armorial bookplate on front end papers. Still an attractive set for rustic antiquarian display. The paper is high grade and this could be a good reading set from the original first collected edition. Approximately 6 inches tall. These are smaller sized, as issued.
