Description: Lawrence Salerno was born in 1899 in Napes and came to the United States when he was 10. He was an accomplished singer, appearing regularly on WGN out of Chicago and sang the National Anthem at the World Series in 1935. He opened his El Gaucho Restaurant on Route 41 in Skokie, Illinois and retired in 1957. Walker China manufactured this plate on its tan Toltec body in 1955. It features an image of a gaucho in maroon with Lawrence Salerno's El Gaucho in script with a matching maroon stripe. The plate measures just over 5 1/2 inches in diameter. Minimal utensil use, hairline crack at the 10 o'clock position which you can see in the photo. Otherwise good condition. Perfect to display. We ship US Priority Mail ONLY!
