It contains a handwritten, probable facsimile label which reads, Mathias Hornsteiner Mittenwald 1795. We cannot guarantee its authenticity in regards to it being made by this maker. Its price is based on the assumption that the violin was made by an anonymous maker. This violin has a spruce top and a two-piece bird’s eye maple back.
