Large Vintage Handcarved Handpainted Wood Horned-Bull Tribal Power Mask

A very large hand-carved handpainted-wood horned-bull-mask which I am told is from Africa. African friends from Ghana & Cote d'Ivoire do not know what country this is from. The paint colors are natural hues combined with the darkness of the wood showing through as part of the design. I am selling this as a decorative piece valued for its beauty more than for its provenance. It is stunningly powerful -- carved from a very old chunk of wood -- and has a wire affixed to the back for hanging on a wall. The different height horns may have cultural significance -- I don't know. The front is in good shape -- normal vintage wear on the paint which lends to the vintage cachet. There is some wear in the wood of the left horn which you can see in the picture of the rear. There are some circular indentations in thr wood at the very top. (all in pics) Dimensions of face part alone are Height 14" X Width 8" Width of face part to outer edges of ears 11" Length from top of right-horn to very bottom of mask 23.5" Please read carefully before bidding/buying.
