Impressive in size and presence, the bowl stands approximately 14” in height, measures 16” in diameter, and weighs 23 pounds. Artistically decorated by hand in brilliant colors on a black ground, the figures displayed on horseback among other activities appear to form a story or event, likely depicting the tripartite division of China known as Three Kingdoms. Light wear and mild staining is seen to the interior of the bowl, otherwise it’s in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections found. A hallmark is seen on the bottom or vase.
