Description: Large Thunderegg or Geode, as much as 6.5 inches long. Beautiful serene colouring on large surface, nice druzy internal space like an entryway into a mysterious world within. There are some crystalline mini features on the inside of the void. The rock is a full half with an impressive exterior even apart from the internal beauty. Has a kind of smily face (or frown, if turned upside down...). Creamy beige to topaz colour, then various greens, and then a section of beautiful blues, all with interesting geometric patterning. Original source unknown. I'm not an expert in these items (comments welcome from those who are!). It was bought at an estate auction as "thundereggs" from someone who appears to have worked for the Geological Survey of Canada, along with 2 other very attractive pieces (different types of geodes). Approximate dimensions: length across face 16cm / 6.25" ; width of face 12cm / 4.75" ; length of stone (measured from face edge to end) 11cm / 4.5" ; full length of stone measured sitting on surface 16cm / 6.5" ; weight 3.24kg / 7.25 lbs
