Description: Large Edward Percy Moran Watercolor An Elegant Lady In Her Garden Large Edward Percy Moran Watercolor An Elegant Lady In Her Garden Click images to enlarge Description Large Edward Percy Moran Watercolor An Elegant Lady in Her Garden Offered here is a large, rare, antique watercolor by Edward Percy Moran. The scene is an elegantly attired lady seated in what appears to be a garden setting. It is the largest work on paper that we have seen by Moran, whose watercolors are usually a quarter sheet or smaller. It is also one of the finest portraits we have owned by any artist in any medium. Note particularly the beautiful rendering of the face and hair in the closeups. This measures 25" by 18" sight size and 29.75" by 22.5" matted and framed. (Note: a full watercolor sheet is about 22" x 28"). The work is on illustration board which is watercolor paper on heavy card which provides a firm, flat surface for the watercolor. The condition is excellent for the age, without surface defects of any kind. We have provided photos and flat-bed scans for your inspection. Percy is the son of famous marine artist Edward Moran and nephew of famous landscape artist Thomas Moran. The family talent survived. Few, if any, artists living or dead could provide a better portrait in this classical style. Returns are accepted only in case of misrepresentation but our guarantee of authenticity is without time limit.
