Description: Wonderful vintage California pottery figural planter - vase by Betty Lou Nichols. The piece features a large Dutch boy figure with a basket attached behind the figure - marked on the bottom see photos. Hand painted - applied flowers on hat - sgraffito details on socks. Great example of the retro 1940s/50s California pottery produced by various studios - mostly in the Pasadena/Hollywood area. The piece is in overall good condition except one of the leaves on his hat is broken and there is crazing. The last 2 photos will show this condition issue. 12” tall, the basket is 3 1/4” diameter.
