Description: This is a fully polished piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a large bivalve seashell with a beetle from the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs still walked the Earth. The shell is the result of a bivalve animal drilling into the amber while it was under seawater. The piece itself weighs 2.0 grams with approximate dimensions of 1.8 cm length by 1.6 cm width and 0.8 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch. Please see my feedback. I have been selling amber fossils for over 15 years on eBay and do not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sources not glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions.Burmese (Burmite) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma).
