Description: This rare hand-painted treasure was recently found in Palm Springs. The lovely hand-painted antique Edwardian porcelain vase is signed "Collins" and has the rare Austrian porcelain seal on the bottom found on one other piece made from the same mold, in a roses theme, and also listed on Ebay. The vase stands about 16 inches tall and is a beauty to behold. The vase features an exotic pair of Lesser Birds-of-Paradise and will add a very tasteful burst of yellow to your decor to brighten up the New Year. In excellent condition, as shown in the photographs. The lesser bird-of-paradise is medium-sized, up to 32 cm (13 in), maroon-brown with a yellow crown and brownish-yellow upper back. The male has a dark emerald-green throat, a pair of long tail-wires and is adorned with ornamental flank plumes which are deep yellow at their base and fade outwards into white. The female is a maroon bird with a dark-brown head and whitish underparts. The lesser bird-of-paradise is distributed throughout forests of northern New Guinea, and the nearby islands of Misool and Yapen.
