Overall depth of the frame from back side to front rosette is approx 1 3/4"Main backboard has outer chip carved edge and then there are 4 chip carved layers high, carved all around the contour of the pieces, with a gold colored highlight top piece. I can't even imagine how long it took the person to complete this awesome piece.Amazing what some people can do when they put their mind to it. Amazingly preserved, darkened varnish with only a couple small chips on an outer edge of one of 2 triangle corners, and small piece off corner of bottom main frame board .The frame is so intricate and mazing looking , you really don't notice it much at all.Please email with any specific questions prior to buying.
