Description: 18” Antique German Bisque Hertel & Schwab Character "Our Baby" mold 152This 18 inch tall doll, circa 1910, was manufactured in Thuringia, Germany, by Hertel, Schwab & Company. Some Hertel, Schwab dolls were made exclusively for the American market Our Baby doll mold 152.The doll has a particularly good quality bisque head along with her original bent limb composition baby body in fabulous original condition. The original finish on the composition body still displays the red paint delineating the fingers and toenails, blue glass stationary eyes and an open mouth with molded tongue and upper teeth. Her head has no chips, cracks, or repairs and is incised, on the back of the head, “152”. The baby wears her blue Swiss dot organza gown with lace edging and matching bonnet and hand crocheted booties. Condition: her head has no chips cracks or restoration, her body has original factory finish and normal age wear. Because of the originality of this antique doll, she would be a great addition to any doll collection.
