Description: BANANA TREES Print 11 x 14 inches This is a print of an original watercolor painting I did of a several banana trees in a courtyard in New Orleans. The original watercolor sold in September 2015; however, limited edition prints are still available! I love these tropical trees which are so much fun to paint! The dark background highlights the trees. The print measures 11 x 14 inches. It is signed in a black sharpie at the bottom left (see photo). The title, artist name, date and edition number is written on the back. This print is available in a limited edition of 250. This print has a half inch border around all sides. It will easily fit into an 11 x 14 frame with no mat, or you can have it matted yourself and put in a larger frame. Print will be shipped in a plastic sleeve between two firm card boards to prevent bending. Shipping will include tracking information as well as an artist statement and bio. About the artist: Kristi Jones was named after Howard Chandler Christy, who was a 20th century illustrator and distant relative. Kristi is also the 5th cousin to Clyde Dixon Connell, one of Louisiana's most famous female artists. Kristi developed an innate artistic ability from being raised by artistic parents, both of whom obtained art degrees. Her father has placed (numerous times) in the top tenth percentile in state and federal duck stamp art contests, and her mother sold work at a local gallery. Kristi was president of the art club in high school. Later, she studied art at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts (NOAFA). She is also self-taught. While in New Orleans, she created mosaics and later designed tropical jewelry which she sold at many Louisiana festivals, including Shreveport's Red River Revel. Recently, she has turned to painting, and has sold work nationally, internationally, and to royals! She has exhibited at shows and galleries in northwest Caddo Parish, including Centenary College's Meadows Museum of Art and Centenary's Magale Library, Smith Mason Legacies Gallery, Norsworthy Gallery, and Artspace (Shreveport). In December 2011, Kristi was awarded a visual arts grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC), and became a Juried Roster Artist in 2012. She is a member of Louisiana Artist, Inc. and the Hoover Watercolor Society. In 2015, she was commissioned to create 29 paintings for the new University Medical Center in New Orleans.
