The 36" base is smooth for use by hand in small spaces and touch ups. A metal handle bracket fits around the base and protrudes at an angle for natural push sweeping motions. Use with the standard broom thread handles. Kraft Tool's 5' Broom Thread Wood Handle (CC163) is recommended. For more versatility use a handle adapter for use with bull float handles.
