Description: For sale is a Japanese old Buddhist temple bronze tripod with handles Foo Dog incense burner in good overall condition.The Japanese late Meiji Era (1868-1912) incense burner is decorative, well-crafted, artistic, detailed, sturdy and durable. The old bronze censer, lid, handles and legs are decorated with thick detailed relief of Foo Dogs in various positions.The temple incense burner has small nicks, marks, wear, incense ash & tar, replaced peg (photo #13), corrosion, etc. Please refer to the photos to determine the overall condition and the quality of the relief, metal work and artwork. The bronze tripod incense burner is about 14.5cm (5 11/16") high, 16.5cm (6 1/2") long and weighs 1280 grams.The temple was built in the 1860s and it has been rebuilt a few times including now due to natural disasters.Parts of the lid appear to be handcrafted.
