Description: Up for bid is a golden era Walt Disney's Comics and Stories comic book by K. K. Publishing. K. K. was a subsidiary of Western Publishing (named after Kay Kaman, manager of character merchandising at Walt Disney Studios). K.K. Publishing later became known more commonly as Dell Publishing. This is issue #56 (Vol 5 #8) published in 1945. I am not a professional grader but I will do my best to describe.Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #56 1) SPINE a) flat cover with no spine rolling, b) minor tear at top staple, bottom staple tight, cover loose at top staple but still attached at both staples c) minor number of stress marks on spine, corners moderately blunted. 2) FRONT COVER a) minor color reflectivity loss with minor foxing b) no creases c) corners on spine side have mild blunting, corners on open side rounded with minimal wear / blunting d) 1/8" x 1/8" piece missing on spine just below top staple e) mild edge wear with heavy staining / discoloration on top edge f) inside front cover - bright colors wild light tanning / foxing 3) REAR COVER a) mild color reflecvtivity loss b) both corners on open side have creases without color breaks c) moderate wear with with staining from handling along vertical edges d) inside rear cover - sharp colors with mild reflectivity loss. e) area with heavy foxing / color loss at lower half of cover INSIDE PAGES a) tan to cream pages b) moderate foxing/dimpling, c) moderate to significant color fading d) staining / discoloration along top edges on some pages d) staining along edges of several pages I would conservatively estimate this comic book to a grade 5.0 VG/FN I am selling off my collection because my kids and grandkids have no interest.
