Description: A cute little coffin cabinet of curiosities. On the face of the lid is a very shallow relief pentagram, about 1 millimeter deep give or take. Inside the box are two bottles, one holding New Orleans Red Brick dust from the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans. Also included in the other bottle are a few Coffin Nail fragments from a nineteenth century building that I helped restore 20 years ago. These are made of wrought iron and are the kind sought after for Voodoo ceremonies and spells. These are not modern steel nails like you might see at some magic stores and businesses. These are Iron and rusty, used and are actual fragments- after all, they had been holding a building together for over 100 years! I will be selling some whole nails in the future but not for this listing. The piece can be displayed opened or closed, vertically or lying down, and with or without the bottles included. The shelf is easily removable, since the weight of the bottles is what holds it in place. On the inside of the lid is a little drawing of mine with a smiling black cat sitting on a grave with the phases of the moon around the kitty. A nice golden oak stain brings out the natural beauty of the wood grain and ties it all together.
