The medal is made of white metal, it is two inches in diameter and in a low grade circulated condition with dark areas and a hole at the top rim. The obverse shows the bust of King George IV in the center and at the rim it reads GEORGIUS IV D.G. BRITT REX. F.D.. The reverse at the rim reads GIVEN BY THE TOWN OF BOLTON TO COMMEMORATE and inside a wreath, with a crown at the top, it reads HIS MAJESTY'S - CORONATION - JULY 19TH -1821.
