Description: 4 cartes de visite, photographers unidentified, 3 showing King Charles XV of Norway and Sweden, who was also known as Carl and Karl, together with 1 CDV showing his wife, Queen Louise. They reigned from 1859 until his death in 1872. These photos are undated, very likely taken during the 1860s -- one has a Civil War revenue stamp on the reverse, indicated it was sold in the Northern U.S. during the war. All reverse sides are unprinted, one has a penciled ID. Two have printed caption information under the photos, as well as old dealer blind stamps. The marriage was not the best, as Charles favored better looking women than Louise, and it was no secret to her (see Wikipedia). Condition of these prints A few marks and spots, but overall very good.
