Description: KENNETH JONES NATIVE AMERICAN NAVAJO STERLING SILVER MORENCI TURQUOISE NECKLACE Morenci turquoise is an American classic, highly regarded and sought after by collectors. It is not actively being mined, which continues to raise its value. Though the morenci turquoise mine in southeastern Arizona produced a wide range of colors from blue to green, the most desirable is a deep blue color with iron pyrite matrix and occasionally some spider-webbing. This piece is set with 30 cabochons of top quality Morenci turquoise. It is a fully saturated, true blue. The matrix includes glistening pyrite, a hallmark of genuine morenci. Beautiful saw and file silverwork with silver accent beads, and a flattering "Y" design. The necklace measures approximately 20" at its longest, but can be adjusted shorter for a collar look. The center pendant portion measures approximately 2.25" L x 1.50" W. Stamped "K. Jones" and "sterling." This piece originally retailed for $1,197, but this was many years ago, and the price of Morenci turquoise (and sterling silver) has sharply risen.
