K-400 is a fictional route, based on the very real (and oddly-named) U.S. Route 400, which spans the entire state and only crosses into the neighboring states of Colorado and Missouri for very short segments. U.S. 400, according to the conventions of the United States Route numbering system, should designate a branch from U.S. Route 0, which does not exist. We decided to make a beautiful sunflower K-route version to show what it might look like if it were just a few miles shorter and fully contained within The Sunflower State.
