Teets, Jr. Published by the West Virginia Geological Survey (WVGS) in 1913. 2) Soil Map, West Virginia Kanawha County Sheet prepared by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Field Operations Bureau of Soils and published by the WVGS in 1912. These maps were published by the WVGS as part of its geological studies of its counties. Both maps are 6 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches folded, opening to 41 1/2 x 49 1/4 inches. The maps were used by William E. Davies, author of the The Caverns of West Virginia, for field research in locating and surveying caves throughout the state.
