Description: JUNGLE BOOK & TARZAN'S REVENGE + 3 BONUS MOVIES (DVD) A collection of 5 classic jungle-themed adventure films on one DVD: JUNGLE BOOK: The whole family will enjoy this lavish Technicolor version of Rudyard Kipling's classic adventure story. "The Jungle Book" tells the tale of a young boy named Mowgli (Sabu), who is raised from infancy by wolves in the jungles of India. Imagine his surprise when he comes face to face with a creature he has never seen before - man! Mowgli's daring exploits take him from the fabulous bejeweled secret City Of The Dead Kings to a final encounter with his mortal enemy - Shere-Khan the Killer Tiger! This film's brilliantly colorful cinematography, music and art direction all earned Academy Award nominations. TARZAN'S REVENGE: Tarzan fights to keep a young woman out of trouble as she accompanies her parents and cowardly fiance on a trek through the dangerous African jungle. Eleanor Reed's father is out to capture exotic animals for an exhibit, and while the Reeds and their guides hunt for suitable specimens, local despot Ben Ali Bey plots to capture Eleanor and add her to his harem of trophy wives. In keeping with the athletic legacy of former Tarzan, Johnny Weissmuller, this independent Tarzan sequel stars Olympic swimmer Glenn Morris as the King of the Apes, with the "Jane" role filled by fellow swimming champ Eleanor Holm. TARZAN AND THE GREEN GODDESS: Lord Greystoke (a.k.a. Tarzan, played by Bruce Bennett aka Herman Brix) and his team of explorers has recovered The Green Goddess - an ancient Mayan totem that contains the chemical formula for an incredibly powerful explosive. On their trail is evil enemy agent Raglan, as well as the Guatemalan natives that want their idol back. Tarzan must keep the Green Goddess safe until he can stop Raglan from learning the secret of the ancient weapon. Selected by Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs to play the character with class and sophistication, Herman Brix was originally cast to play the lead in the 1932 MGM production of Tarzan and the Ape Man. He was replaced by Johnny Weissmuller after suffering an injury on the set of Touchdown (1931). Ashton Dearholt, who played Raglan, was a close personal friend of Burroughs as well as the husband of Tarzan and The Green Goddess leading lady Ula Holt. Billed as the sequel to The New Adventures of Tarzan (1935), Tarzan and The Green Goddess is actually a re-edited version of the 1935 serial with a small amount of new footage added. TARZAN AND THE TRAPPERS: Trappers intrude into the Ape-Man's domain, poaching for profit and capturing Cheeta and Boy. Other interlopers seek to plunder the riches of the lost city of Zarbo, and if that means ensnaring Tarzan in a net - so be it! Yet no one can ensnare the loin-clothed jungle hero long! Edgar Rice Burroughs' vine-swinging Lord of the Apes (Gordon Scott) is mightily busy in Tarzan and the Trappers and for good reason: the film is an edited version of three episodes intended for a TV series. The series never came to fruition, but fortunately for fans of Tarzan, this event-packed film did, complete with a Jane (Eve Brent) and a turn by Sherman "Scatman" Crothers as Tarzan's friend Tyana. TARZAN THE FEARLESS: A fabulous treasure lies in the Lost City of Zar, the jungle God. When Dr. Brooks (E. Alyn Warren), a scientist studying ancient jungle tribes, is captured by the High Priest and followers of Zar, the doctor's beautiful daughter, Mary (Jacqueline Wells), and her companion, Bob Hall (Eddie Woods), mount a rescue expedition. Their guides have a different agenda - looting the treasure and capturing Tarzan in order to claim a bounty on the Ape Man. When all parties are taken prisoner by Zar's followers, it falls to the Lord of the Jungle to rescue them from certain death. Tarzan the Fearless was one of the few Tarzan movies that was actually based on a story by the character's creator, Edgar Rice Burroughs. Buster Crabbe, an Olympic gold-medal swimmer, played the jungle king in this feature version of the fifteen chapter serial before going on to fame as Flash Gordon. Made in 1933, 1936, 1938, 1942 & 1958, black & white and color, 397 minutes total running time. DVD released in 2016 by Echo Bridge Home Entertainment... This DVD is **NEW** and unopened...
