Description: Hand Painted J.P.L. Limoges Teapot and Warmer Japonisme Decoration Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Description: A Limoges Teapot and warming stand decorated in the Japonisme style circa 1890s. Made by the famed Limoges firm of Jean Pouyat. Even with the condition issues (see below) the Warmer alone makes this piece worth owning! The underglaze hand painting is extremely colorful and beautifully detailed. Marks: Both pieces are marked as shown with the underglaze green J.P.L with a line mark used from about 1876-1890. Both pieces have a red ink stamped mark. The ink stamp on the teapot is legible as "FRANCE". The ink stamp on the warmer is not legible but was probably also the same as the teapot. The mark of 'France' indicates 1891 or later. This piece is almost certainly from the 1890s Size: Total height (with no lid) is about 9 3/4" (24.8cm) to the highest point on the handle and about 4 3/8" (11.1cm) wide at the shoulder of the warmer. The base of the warmer is 3 1/4" (8.25cm) across. Condition: The warmer is nearly pristine with painted decoration and the heavy gold in excellent condition. The teapot is missing the lid and the spout appears to have been ground off. AS ALWAYS, I unconditionally guarantee that you will be satisfied. Item# 160925 BID CONFIDENTLY!
