I’m glad the characters and stories from my youth are still around and enjoying new adventures and many current generations of fans! Grading of comic books is very objective and I adhere to the standards in the Overstreet Comic Book Grading Guide. The process of grading a comic book fairly takes about 10 minutes and notes the entire combination of detracting factors. Certain factors will limit a books potential grade like small tears, creases, or even large detractors like missing pieces or pages. The grading process accounts for every variety of defect since the birth of the book and arrives at the proper range where most can agree on a grade or range. Sometimes there are different interpretation of a books grade. CGC and other like grading companies have entered the hobby and offer to encapsulate your book and assign a grade. Some flaws are allowable in one case and not another. The search for the perfect pristine copy of a book is probably fun too, but I enjoy opening the book, smelling the pages and seeing the pictures and words tell a story. I do not enjoy looking at the cover of a book I cannot open and enjoy. That’s just me. The comics and the process of grading have flaws so I will do my best to take clear pictures and to note any flaws not apparent in the pictures. It’s all about trust and I just hope new generations of readers may enjoy these books and stories.
