Description: This is a very nice historical nursing collectable from one of our great nurses, Martha Moore Bradley, Phd. Martha received a B.A. degree in English and Music from Erskine College, RN diploma from The Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing, M.S. degree in Neuropsychiatric Nursing from Columbia University and Ph.D. degree in Human Development Education from University of Maryland. She completed other graduate work at the University of California and the University of Texas. She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps 1945-1947 and the U.S. Army Nurse Corps Reserve 1947-1979, retiring as a full colonel. Col. Bradley was professor of Nursing at the University of South Carolina 1972-1986, also serving as Interim Dean and Director of Graduate Programs. She also worked at Walter Reed Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital in Texas and several other hospitals. Among Col. Bradley’s memberships were American Nurses’ Association (ANA), South Carolina State Nurses’ Association, Central Midlands District Nurses’ Association, National League for Nursing (NLN) and South Carolina League for Nursing. She was also a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Psi Chi (North Texas Chapter), and was an active member of Altrusa Club in Columbia.
