Description: I have for sale a John Charles Fremont 1856 Presidential campaign medal. The medal looks to be bronze; it is 1 1/8 inch in diameter and it's in a mid-grade circulated condition with a hole at the top rim & spots, see photos. John Fremont was an American explorer, military officer and a politician. At one time he was a senator from California and the republican nominee for president in 1856, but he lost that election to James Buchanan. The medal obverse shows the bust of FREMONT in the center and at the rim it reads JOHN C. FREMONT - FREE SOIL & FREE SPEECH. The reverse in the center shows an eagle and at the rim it reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables, where over 900 more collectibles are for sale.
