Description: This is a wonderful Stoneware Bowl by John Dodson from 1975. It is 10 3/8" wide, 5 " tall and weighs 3.8 lbs. It is signed DODSON '75 on the bottom. It is in excellent condition. It is glazed in 4 different glazes, a rich reddish brown with Rutile crystals with black over that. Inside it has a fine, breaking, brown and white glaze with a cobalt blue glaze over that. It has raised spiral ribs from being hand thrown, inside and out, with a 3/8" tall foot that is 4 1/2" wide. John Dodson had a pottery in Fortson Ga. from the early 70's until 1988, then moved to Brevard N.C., then Waynesville N.C. in 1997. A superb bowl by a noted regional Potter.
