Description: Up for sale is what I believe to be a vintage reproduction of Johannes Thon's 1721 solar ring sundial. However, it is much larger than other reproductions I've found and does not bear the typical PIZ BUIN inscription inside the ring. It appears to be brass, is nonmagnetic, and has some faint greening consistent with the material, but there is also silver showing through in places - perhaps a solder. In working condition with some light wear. See photos.
