Please note that there sometimes can be a slight color variation from Photo to actual art work Joan Pontius i Bonet, Catalan painter, born in Barcelona on November 28th 1927 and died in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, on April 4, 1984. The work of Joan Pontius Bonet was a true reflection of his tormented life, he saw one light in Barcelona November 28, 1927. Three years later came his brother Antonio and 36 his sister Marisol. 40 to 42 was domestic in Mataro Salesians and the following year began to study painting at the studio of Ramon Rogent, a painter who always had a great admiration for this time he met Joan Vinyals, antiquarian, who walk the eventually became his first dealer. In 1944 his sister Maria Rosa was born to die in 1956, shortly before the birth the father left the family. At age 20 and held his first exhibition, met JVFoix baker-poet, the poet and playwright Joan Brossa, the critic and philosopher Arnau Puig, the typographer Enric Tormo and attended the gathering "La Campana". After a brief stay in Paris by Joan Miró, a mention in the Bienal de São Paulo in 1955 gave him a scholarship to study in Brazil, where he founded the group L'Espai. In that same year he founded the group "Taüll" with Marc Aleu, Modest Cuixart, Guinovart Jaume Jaume Muxart, Mercadé, Antoni Tàpies and Joan-Josep Tharrats.
