Joan Crawford Framed Letter Autograph with COA Signature on Letterhead to Friend

Description: Joan Crawford Signed LetterThis is a really fun piece of Americana Ephemera. Golden Era Film star and Hollywood royalty Joan Crawford wrote this letter in 1974 to a friend Shirley Slotkin thanking her for sending a clipping and discussing briefly her state. This was about 3 years before she passed away and after living a long life that included serving on the Pepsi board which this letter refers to. Joan married a Pepsi exec and served after her acting career. The letter is addressed to a Mrs. Edward Slotkin (Shirley) who was married to the owner of Hygrade Food Products which owned Ball Park Franks and served the hotdogs at the Detroit Lions Stadium. Golden Age Film Star, Pepsi, American Football and Hot Dogs, good stuff. The letter is framed, but I took everything out to show the condition and letter of COA which is included. This is certainly a valid signature and a neat piece of history. The frame is in pretty fair shape, not an expensive frame. The letter and documents are all in excellent condition and have been very well wrapped for shipment. Joan Crawford & "Shirley"Joan Crawford was a legendary American actress whose career spanned several decades, from the silent film era of the 1920s to the 1970s. Known for her striking looks, commanding screen presence, and dramatic talent, she became one of Hollywood's most celebrated stars. Crawford won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Mildred Pierce (1945), a noir melodrama about a single mother striving for success. Her performances in other films like Grand Hotel (1932), Possessed (1947), and Sudden Fear (1952) further solidified her status as an icon. Off-screen, Crawford became famous for her glamorous lifestyle, her highly publicized feud with fellow actress Bette Davis (highlighted in their joint film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?), and her role as a business executive after marrying Alfred Steele, the chairman of Pepsi-Cola. In her later years, her reputation was shaped by the controversial memoir Mommie Dearest, written by her adopted daughter, which painted Crawford as a complex and, at times, harsh figure. Despite the mixed legacy, Joan Crawford remains a symbol of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Mrs. Edward Slotkin (her full name was Shirley Slotkin) was the wife of Edward Slotkin, whose family owned and operated Hygrade Food Products Corporation, a company known for producing Ball Park Franks—a brand famously associated with American baseball and stadium hotdogs.FulfillmentThank you for viewing and please let me know if you have any questions!
