Description: Jim Ridlon's Shakespeare Edition is a series of limited edition prints inspired by the works of William Shakespeare. The series consists of 20 prints, each one based on a different Shakespeare play. This numbered print is 47/50 and is signed by the artist. The prints are created using a technique called chine collé, which involves adhering a thin layer of paper to a heavier backing sheet during the printing process. Ridlon combines this technique with a variety of printmaking methods, including etching, aquatint, and lithography, to create richly textured and visually striking images. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist, and the edition is limited to 50 copies of each image. The Shakespeare Edition prints have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the Syracuse University Art Galleries and the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. They are highly collectible and sought after by art collectors and Shakespeare enthusiasts alike. Most prints are approximately 10 in. x 7.5 in, with the exception of The Princess, which measures approximately 7.5 in x 7 in.
