Before it hit Broadway and be made into a movie, Webber and Rice recorded this to generate interest and get backers to take it to the stage. With Deep Purple's Ian Gillan as Jesus and most of Joe Cockers backing group playing the rock instruments, it became a success. It is a 2 album set that is boxed with lyric and cast booklet and small poster of Jesus as depicted over time. The box is in ok complete shape with minor wear and dings, the Jesus poster has been hung and has some tape removal marks on the back, the albums look like they were played only a few times, but with care. When you open the box, the interior has an odd odor that isn't mildew-y but has an old house smell on the paper, closed it doesn't really have a smell. 724
