Each is a sound source remastered from the original master tape. -CD1: In 1998, Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde" co-starring Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Kurt Masur, Thomas Moser (Tristan), and young Ian Bostridge (young sailor). It is an excerpt but a valuable studio recording. -CD2: R. Strauss's "Four Last Songs" (second recording) recorded in May 1989 and Wagner's "Wesendonk Lieder" recorded in November 1992. Both are live recordings with the Berliner Philharmoniker conducted by James Levine.
