JEFFERSON white OPALESCENT glass JEWEL & FAN #125 SCALLOPED BOWL antique ~1902

Description: Offered for sale is a beautiful antique opalescent glass BOWL made by Jefferson Glass. The pattern is Jefferson's #125, aka JEWEL & FAN. It has a tightly crimped ruffle edge. The outer surface has a raised pattern of four fancy fans with tiny beads on the edges, and four large lens-like circles, also with beaded edges. The space around the fans is stippled. The pattern is on the outer surface of the glass; the inside surface is smooth. The dish itself is clear glass, extending into a thin band of white opalescence at the ruffled and crimped edge. The Jewel & Fan pattern was introduced in ~1902. This bowl measures 8 5/8 inches (21.9cm) across the widest part of the rim, and stands 3 1/4 inches (8.3cm) tall to the highest point. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in the second picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. This is a magnificent antique opalescent bowl for your collection! The bowl is in good used condition, with no cracks, deep scratches, or repairs. One tiny chip is present on the base of the bowl (picture 4). All my items are from a SMOKE FREE home.
