Description: Here we have a busy street car station with lots of soldiers and civilians on a Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, color postcard sent in 1918 with a highly relevant message. It has minor edge and corner wear.It has an interesting if somewhat ironic message to his sweetheart: "... This is the simple life, nothing to do but eat and sleep and look wise? We are sleeping in tents tonight and I am in with a swell bunch, some windy guys believe me." and mentions the "worst yet."The 2c Jefferson stamp is tied by a St. Louis Oct. 1918 machine postmark, so the card was sent just before the war ended. The card is addressed to Miss Ina Cruickshank, Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, Ill. The card was published by Maserang and Ledford, Jefferson Barracks.An eye-catching Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, street car, military and local publisher postcard.
