Description: This is a tapered shaft rear dana 44 axle. Has been gone through (prior to me acquiring it) with new brakes, bearings etc. Approx 53" from backing plate to backing plate. The Dana 44 Semi-Float rear axle with tapered axle shafts would be used onmost Jeep Models up to 1/2 tonclass from 1950 all the way to 1968. 1969was the transition year when Jeep Dana 44 rear axles with flanged axle shafts first appeared, but for some applications, the tapered shaft 44 is listed in the Jeep parts catalog through the 1971 model year. 5.38 gears. Buyer will need to arrange their own shipping but I can load it onto a truck.
