Description: This is a new replacement connector body for the heater and AC blower fan switch on Jeep Cherokee XJ (1986-96) and Jeep Comanche (1986-92). Included are 4 replacement wires with terminals crimped on. The original connectors are known to overheat and melt. There are several reasons for this, but once the source of the problem is repaired, one is left needing a replacement connector housing. This is an exact replacement. Also included are four 12 gauge wires (like the originals) with factory type connectors crimped on. Insert the new wires into the connector housing to match your wiring pattern. Then cut off the old connector and connect the new wires to the old using your choice of connection method (solder or crimp connector). The wires are approximately 6" long after the connector, so you have plenty to work with. The terminals slide into the rear of the housing and lock into place (requires special tool to remove, or use a very small flat tip screwdriver, like for eye glasses). White, brown, blue, and green wires are included as shown. This may or may not match your wire colors. I've seen at least two different wiring color schemes for the Jeep Cherokees. The last picture shows the two I have seen. These are shown for information only and are not included in the sale. The wire is high quality, 100% copper, crosslink GXL (medium thickness insulation). Cross link wire has high resistance to heat, moisture, and solvents. The second picture shows the proper orientation of the terminals for insertion into the connector housing. If you look closely, you can see a small slot intended to mate with the tang that is on the back of the terminal. If you have any questions, please contact me.
