Description: Presented is a set of JBL C52 speakers, the Opus a 1962 release perhaps one of the rarest editions in the JBL history. The Opus was offered for only a few years perhaps only two. These are completely all original including the horn lenses which have no chipping and were restored from sun faded condition. The speakers cabinets were preserved with professional conservation to maintain as much patina and original character as possible. Being vintage there are some micro scratches, bruises and corner nicks but as you can see in the photographs are very good condition. The walnut veneer stands are custom made as well as a second set of walnut back plates which go behind the lenses to allow proper centering of the lenses when in the vertical position. Note : The speakers use the original back plates when utilized in the horizontal position. Lenses are secured to back plates with Velcro. Note: other web based examples will show improper off centered lenses, The LE 85 driver is rotated 90 degrees as part of the original JBL design, but JBL in this year did not accommodate the off center condition, thus the new custom back plate for vertical application.
