The same 3.4 Litre straight 6 cylinder XK engine with iron block and aluminium head from the C-Type was further modified but with many features shared with its predecessor.The engine was revised with bigger inlet valves, new exhaust manifold and camshafts to give an output of 250 bhp at 6000 rpm and 239 lb/ft of torque at 3900 rpm.
