Instructions: How To Quickly Clean Tool If Pressure Reading Doesn't Hold on Dial 1. Remove top section of brass stem Dust from tire valve stem may enter the gauge with normal use. This can cause the reading to not hold on the dial. This is common in analog gauges, and if this happens, you can easily fix the problem by following these steps. First, unthread the top section of the brass stem. 2. Remove internal seal components Carefully remove the internal seal components: Insert plugBlack discClear discSpring 3. Clean dust and debris Gently clean internal components, and blow inside of the stem to clear dust and debris. Rotate and press the bleeder valve a few times to dislodge any trapped debris. 4. Reassemble Reinsert components in this order: SpringClear DiscBlack DiscPlug Insert Lastly, thread the top of the brass stem back onto the base.
