Description: Jack Russell Antique Plate - by McNicol - Little Victorian girl holding a cute Terrier puppy with the Terrier Momma looking on - really sweet image. I am unsure of the origin of or artist of the image, but it appears on many different pieces by many different pottery/porcelain makers - it is transferware that was widely used in the late 1800’s, early 1900’s. Transferware is a decorative print that is transferred from an engraved, inked copper plate to a sheet of paper and then the paper is then applied to a piece of unfired china or pottery, which absorbs the ink from the paper, the paper is removed and then the piece is fired in the kiln. This particular plate is marked “Carnation McNichol” which dates it to the early 1900’s - Carnation references the shape of the plate, and the plate was made by McNichol which was began business in 1892 in East Liverpool, Ohio and is famous for its decorative plates and calendar plates. This plate has a small chip on the back and a very fine hairline crack (please see the photos). @ 7 1/2” I always combine shipping on multiple items purchased and will refund you the extra cost you paid or can invoice you if you wait to pay!
