Description: "ALASKA" in very bold, raised letters lets there be no doubt what this spoon is all about. It is about 5 1/2" long. Based on the marks, I believe it was made prior to 1920. Mayer was known for making some outstanding souvenir spoons. Some of them are very elaborate; however, I love the simplicity of this one. It says "ALASKA" and that is all you need to know. It is in great condition other than a couple of small spots in the bowl. I'm sure they can be easily removed. It's up to the buyer. I think this is a special spoon. Please take a look at our listings of silver by Tiffany, Gorham, Durgin, Reed & Barton, and other fine makers. Also take a look at our excellent English and Continental silver. The German vases are spectacular. Please contact us if you have any questions.
