Description: The Italian art glass studios produced many beautiful works of art using the millefiori style in a large number of shapes, sizes and color combinations. Although unsigned, I believe this item could have been produced by Fratelli Toso as the factory was known to produce numerous items of this type and style. Footed examples of this type of glass are extra special as added labor was required to complete the task. This striking vase created in the 1950s, possibly late 40s is a prime example of the skills of the glassblowers. The cane design on the outside has a tightly packed configuration of multicolored “flowers”. As this example was handblown, an unground pontil can be viewed in the center of the bottom between the applied clear glass feet. The vase stands 4 5/8” tall and spans 4 5/8” diameter across the top. Thorough examination reveals no damage, repairs or staining noted. A wonderful example to brighten any room. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description. Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future. Thank you.
