As in the previous contests, there were participants from all over the world in addition to the Israeli contestants. The obverse of the medal depicts a Torah crown stylized from the Hebrew letters T, N and Kh, forming the word "Tenach" (the initials for Torah, Neviim, Ketobim, the three main divisions of the Bible - Pentateuch, Prophets, and Writings). On the rim below, the State emblem. Around the rim 'The Fourth International Bible Contest, Jerusalem 5729" in Hebrew. The French translation has the date 1969.The reverse shows an antique Jewish oil lamp with a panel containing the seven-branched candelabrum. The verse "How I love Thy teachings" appears in large letters in Hebrew, and around the rim in a archaic Greek according to the Septuagint. The source, Psalms 118:97, is mentioned both in Hebrew and Greek (in the King James Bible the verse is numbered 119:97). ------------ -I do not grade coins.
