Description: I have a very large collection of collection of books spanning many topics. Also a massive gathering of Philip K Dick titles and editions, some of which will be appearing here shortly. Anne Rice helped begin the re-imagining of the Vampire genre with her Vampire Chronicles. This is her first published novel. The Chronicles, featuring her character Lestat, have been adapted into several films. As well, Anne Rice has written several other series in the horror genre along with some historical fiction and erotica. Several of those have been adapted to film also. This is a solid very good book in very good dust jacket. Top page-edge stained red (as published). The book itself is slightly cocked (see image). The binding is firm. Edges and tips are rubbed, but to be expected with a book almost 40 years old. The gold foil dj is still attractive, showing rubbing and edge creasing, primarily to spine ends and flap folds. Backside minor tape reinforcement to spine ends (see image). Pictures shown give a god overview of this volume. The dj is covered in a brodart. Book is preserved in an acid-free archival bag. Overall, while a copy with minor flaws, this is still a presentable and IMO gift or collection quality copy of a first edition, additionally signed by Anne Rice. I will happily answer any further questions. Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases. To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers. Best not to waste our time. With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer. If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings. I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases. I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success.
